Master of Clinical Psychology-PhD
Li is a registered psychologist who completed her Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Queensland. Prior to her clinical training, Li worked as a researcher and lecturer at the Australian National University in Canberra, where she also completed a PhD in social psychology, looking at the development of trust between strangers.
As a therapist, Li is calm, warm, and empathetic, and always aims to understand her clients’ difficulties and challenges, from their perspective, through active listening and reflection. Li provides a safe, supportive space in which clients can freely express themselves without judgment. She works primarily within a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework, but also draws on elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).
Li works with adults, as well as younger adults (12 years and above). She has considerable experience working with clients presenting with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, stress, motivational issues, trauma, autism spectrum disorder, and personality disorders, among others. Li welcomes clients from diverse backgrounds and all walks of life, and is open to conducting sessions in Chinese if needed.
