Jillian has been a practicing psychologist since 2008 and has experience working in a variety of settings including private practice, public hospitals, and community mental health units in both Queensland and Western Australia.
Jillian has worked with clients with a range of presenting problems. These include anxiety; depression; adjustment difficulties; family and relationship issues; self-esteem difficulties; eating disorders; addiction or substance use and dependencies; anger management and emotion regulation problems; child behaviour; childhood and adult traumas; physical, emotional, and sexual abuse; acute and post-traumatic stress disorders; bipolar disorder; psychosis and psychotic disorders; personality disorders; and existential issues.
Jillian uses a range of therapeutic interventions to suit the needs of her clients including cognitive-behaviour therapy, narrative therapy, transactional analysis, and interpersonal therapies. In particular, Jillian has a special interest in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy which focuses on the relationships people have with themselves and with others. This therapeutic approach aims to assist clients to develop greater insight and awareness into the thoughts, feelings, and behavioural patterns in their lives, reducing and alleviating symptoms while working towards a more meaningful and satisfying life.
Jillian works at the Morningside practice Tuesday to Friday.
