Julie is a Clinical Psychologist with 15 years’ experience working in public hospitals and private practice health settings in Sydney. She is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society and is a board certified supervisor.

Julie has extensive experience in providing psychological treatment for a range of presentations including: Mood disorders, Anxiety disorders (panic, generalised anxiety, social anxiety, performance anxiety, phobias and health anxiety), Post Traumatic Stress disorder (PTSD) and trauma exposure adjustment difficulties, substance dependence issues, psychosocial impact of managing chronic health conditions, body image issues and conditions related to disordered eating, grief/loss/change, relationship issues and workplace stress.

Julie has specialist skills in the area of assessment and treatment of adults suffering from PTSD. Julie has treated individuals who have experienced trauma types such as: motor vehicle accidents, road traffic accidents, car jacking, physical assaults, adult rape, home invasions, industrial accidents, and witnessing a traumatic event. She has for many years worked with current and ex serving NSW Police Officers who have sustained a psychological injury during the course of carrying out their duties. Julie has also worked with serving and ex members of the ADF suffering from PTSD. Julie has a thorough understanding of the unique issues surrounding Military and Police populations.

Julie uses evidenced based therapies to help her clients achieve maximum benefits from the sessions. To that end, she draws from a number of therapeutic strategies to assist her clients including, Cognitive Behaviour Therapies, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma Focused – CBT, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Schema Therapy.

Julie has supervised many University postgraduate training psychologists at both The University of Western Sydney Psychology Clinic and The University of New South Wales Psychology Clinic. She has also provided guest lectures and workshops to postgraduate training psychologists in the areas of Psychological Interventions, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and the Assessment and Treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorders.

Throughout her career Julie has also been involved in a number of clinical research trials in the field of Post Traumatic Mental health across civilian, police and military populations.
