Elizabeth has broad experience working with adolescents (high school age) adults, and families across a variety of clinical settings. She has experience providing psychological services for a range of presentations including relationship distress, grief and bereavement, depression, anxiety, difficultly adjusting to transitional life stages or significant stressors, and developmental problems in childhood and adolescence.
Elizabeth has particular interest in adjustment difficulties, depression, and also the range of psycho-social issues that impact on the well-being of older adults.
Elizabeth works mostly from a cognitive-behavioural approach. She also employs other approaches when appropriate such as those that focus more on interpersonal relationships, deeply held beliefs and values, stress reduction, and meaning reconstruction.
As a part of her Master of Clinical Psychology degree, Elizabeth conducted research that explored diffierences in the way people understand and relate to time, and the impact of these differences on everyday behaviours and activities. Elizabeth has also worked with the Cancer Council Queensland and been involved in research investigating psychological therapy approaches to assist those whose life has been affected by cancer.
